Mural Portfolio: George Stubbs Hallway
This is an excellent example of using a mural to open up an awkward space. This small, angular entryway felt cramped. A landscape always opens up a space psychologically, and in this case we decided on a 360 degree landscape surrounding all the walls.
The owners are both horse owners and have a background in art history, so we suggested that we do the landscape in the style of George Stubbs, and populate it with figures from several of his paintings, fading out the top and bottom areas.
