So many choices! The most wonderful
thing about murals is that you can have virtually anything your
heart desires. Great masterpieces reproduced, flowers blooming
year round, dead civilizations resurrected, faux architecture,
views of any favorite location; the range is enormous. One of the most important parts of our job is to help you make this decision, through dialog with you, and our analysis of the location. |
| Q: | Can I afford a mural? | A: | Probably. We can help you decide what is essential and eliminate the rest.Do you need the whole room or wall done? Will a portion, a painted panel, or a wall hanging do? We work with you to arrive at a project that fits your budget. |
| Q: | Does a mural have to be painted right on the wall? | A: | No! It is often advisable NOT to put your mural directly on the wall, but on a canvas which can be applied over the wall. This facilitates repairs to the wall, can be done in our studio (saving expense) and can be portable. |
| Q: | How does a canvas mural work? | A: | The size can be as large as a whole wall, or just a panel to be blended with the rest of the wall. Canvas can be hung by a qualified paper hanger, or stapled to the wall, with the staples hidden behind decorative molding. This works very well for faux windows. The work can be shipped by tube to any location. |
| Q: | How large can a canvas mural be? | A: | Canvas comes in widths up to 12 feet, and can be nearly any length. |
| Q: | Do you come to our home to paint the mural? | A: | Sometimes, if the mural requires it. We usually have two painters on a project, unless it is very small. You will save travel and lodging expenses if the work can be done in our studio and shipped. |
| Q: | How do I know what the mural will cost? | A: | We have a two part process for our mural work. We charge a flat fee for creating a set of proposed designs, usually with a few alternative approaches, and with costs for each proposed design. The mural has its own contract and price. Just remember, the more complex the mural, the more the cost, regardless of size. Large open areas cost less than small, very detailed ones. |
